Home from New Mexico with Photos!!

We are back home now for a short time!

We had a great time. John Henry and Shelby were thrilled with being able to ride a horse, and we now have 5 new pets: lizards named Slingshot, Saphire II, Silver Bullet, Amber, and FireBall.

Here are our photos, and I will try to post again before we leave for our next trip...

We are leaving for Austin, TX on Monday.

Uncle Elmer and Aunt Marilyn

Old Glory as far as the eye can see

Chore Time

Working Hard

Hay for the Horses

The Men-folk rest after doing their chores

Uncle Elmer takes John Henry for a ride on Blue

Shelby and Aunt Marilyn comfort Honta. He was very upset and jealous that his friend Blue was being ridden and he wasn't! Honta has a sore foot and has to wait until it heals. He kept trying to jump the fence.

There they go!

Riding in the distance (if you can see them way out there!) They'd better come back soon, there is a storm brewing.

Back all safe and sound

Now it's Sister's turn

Shelby gets her ride in before the storm arrives. She's a big girl and gets to ride by herself.

The big smile of a new cowboy!

I only wish that Andy could have lived long enough to make this trip with us.

John did get some badly needed "Guy Time" on the trip, so that was nice. He will get some more "Guy Time" with Jimmy next week, too.

Wow! Glad you made it home safely! I heard you were stopping in Amarillo to see Edith and Mom but haven't heard from them yet. Cool to vacations...what are you going to Austin for?

You're like me, Stephanie...I'm always the photographer, so I'm never in any pictures! Looks like y'all had a wonderful time!

We made it to Amarillo on our way back home and visited with your Mom, Dad, Edith, and Amos on Thursday night. We had a very nice time. They have a beautiful place, and we were treated to a great spaghetti dinner! We are going to Austin to visit Jimmy and his wife Tiffanie. We have never been there before, and Jim says it is a cultural treat. After we get back we will take a brief rest, then I start back to work on August 8th. I have 5 schools this year, so I need to rest up!

Yes, I did talk with Mom the other day! I love Austin (at least I did before it got soooo heavily populated)...I lived there in 1976. Lots of stuff to see and do! Safe trip and have fun!

It's a whole lot greener here now after 2 1/2 inches of rain on Saturday night.

I started to enter the family tree, didn't get very far. Will keep working on it. Marilyn

Fine specimens of cowboys, only where's the black hat, Hermano?

Get a look at those boots on that good-looking cowboy with the big smile! Little buckaroo is right with it, huh? Come to think of it, I believe he just earned my nickname for him--Buck!

About comforting the horse, beautiful horse! Oh, and you girls aren't bad either. Great fun.
